There’s something particularly special about a couple who fall in love an ocean away from home and choose to say “I do” where one of their hearts has always belonged. Naomi and Richard’s wedding at the breathtaking Johannesdal was exactly that — a celebration five years in the making, brought home to Richard’s beloved Cape Town for a day surrounded by mountains, greenery and the people who mean the most to them. From an intimate outdoor ceremony to a candlelit reception under the stars, every moment of their day felt effortless, romantic and entirely their own.

Naomi and Richard came to us with a clear vision: natural, modern, and unmistakably green and white. We built their design around this restrained, organic palette, letting lush hydrangeas and amaranthus spill from the tables and grounds rather than sit confined in vases — a soft, wild abundance that felt as though the garden itself had been invited to the celebration. Boxwood hedges and mountain views framed the ceremony, while string lights and natural lanterns cast a warm glow over the reception as evening fell. Long banquet tables, dressed simply and beautifully, let the surrounding landscape take centre stage — proof that the most elegant designs are often the quietest ones.
